Trinidad James.

Please get most familiar with this nipply fellow Trinidad James.
Since his mixtape "Don't Be S.A.F.E", which stands for Sensitive As Fuck Everyday, dropped a couple days ago, it's literally all I've been rocking to.

The beats are agreeable, his voice is interesting, and the mixtape is actually kinda funny to me.
Like literally I think he might be hilarious.
He seems like a retro thug/pimp with a soft side.

Straight up, I like this kid.
And his presentation is on point.
Nobody is going to forget him looking like that.

We are "Made in America": Artist Recap.

While at Made in America, Amanze and I saw about a ka-jillion artists.
Absolutely had no time to even breathe.

It was so hardcore trying to manage the schedule, the different stages, and the crowd.
The crowds were impossible, so if you wanted to see someone, you had to be out there waiting.

I think we managed everything really well though bc we saw almost everybody we wanted to see.
We missed Skrillex only because they switched stages at the last minute. Oh darn.

But anyway, here's the artist recap of "Made in America."
It was a dope festival and I can guarantee all of your friends are probably going next year.

Head to The Pretty Mustache for my personal recap.

MMG

Wale

Rick Ross

Stalley

Janelle Monae
D'Angelo's back.

Passion Pit drummer

Passion Pit lead singer.

Oh snap. Miike Snow.

Miike Snow's light/fog ratio was epic.

Where else does the President come up and address the crowd?
Made in America.

Hov.

Brought out all of the old school Rocafella artists.

In the middle of Jay's set, it got real G.O.O.D.

Common and Ye.

Big Sean and 2 Chainz.
Rita Ora.

Santigold.

The Hives.

Jill Scott.

Jill brought out Eve.
For the first time in 10 years, Run DMC.

Jay-Z and Beyonce.

Drizzy.

Drake and French Montana.

Pearl Jam.

I don't believe we actually watched their ENTIRE 2 hour performance, but
them performing 99 problems with Jay-Z is definitely
once in a lifetime.

VIDEO: 2 Chainz ft Kanye West: Birthday Song.

If I don't see a plethora of "big booty hoes", I'm gonna be mad.
I'm sure he won't disappoint...

...And disappoint he DID NOT.
Big booties right off the jump!

2 Chainz has a gift of getting you real excited about his dancing ass.
He cracks me up.
And that older man in the video that was dancing? Yea.

Made in America Festival Set Times Announced.

Philly this weekend is about to pop the hell off.
Amanze and I will be in attendance.

VIDEO: Schoolboy Q: "There He Go."

Every time my boyfriend Amanze tries to say Schoolboy, he says "Skew" boy.
It's hilarious.

Back to business though...
The way Schoolboy vibes to his music is so vicious...I love it.
And seeing him live is the same deal.

I will NEVER forget that S.O. TERIK show at SXSW.
The boys were on fire..and I never lie about people being on fire.
That's serious stuff...and it made my life.

Watch below niggies:

P.S. Kendrick looks all 90s in this video and it's cracking me up.

Throwback Videos: Yasiin Bey aka Mos Def.

I was putting up a new post on The Pretty Mustache about Mos Def Yasiin Bey, when I got the urge to hear some of his old joints.

3 of my favorites: "Ms. Fat Booty", "Umi Says", and "Respiration."
For all the real hip hop heads.

Meet Gabby of Team USA.

If any of you have been watching the Olympics, you have no doubt seen Gabrielle Douglas with her dope 15 year old self.

I love watching this girl do her thing.
Like a little Jezo lol.

Watch her story below:

Oh and you know the Gymnastics Team just won the gold right?
Yea. They got it like that.
Congrats girls!

VIDEO: Miguel: "Adorn"

I've always loved Miguel, since he first came out with "Sure Thing."
I swear this man has been in the game forever, and it's kinda fun to see him progress.

This song was originally on "Art Dealer Chic: Vol.1", which I loved but wished was longer, and here it is again.
His original video was much shorter and took on an artistic vision, but looks like good things come in 2's.

H.E.L.L.O. Girls

There's a new girl group in town which includes Meagan Good (known as Cheeba), her sister Lamyia (Bullet), Sterling (Goldie), and Amy (Kitty).

Their cooky video stars the girls and Pooch Hall (from The Game) running around just acting all sorts of crazy.

Take a look for yourself.
What do you think of the new group?
They're certainly cute.

Independence Day for Frank Ocean.

Independence Day takes on a whole new meaning after R&B newbie Frank Ocean releases a letter on his Tumblr page confirming his bisexuality.
It all started with this first post below:
BASEDGOD WAS RIGHT
we’re all a bunch of golden million dollar babies. my hope is that the babies born these days will inherit less of the bullshit than we did. anyhow, what i’m about to post is for anyone who cares to read. it was intended to fill the thank you’s section in my album credits, but with all the rumors going round.. i figured it’d be good to clarify..
The next post he made was the following letter that has sparked so much controversy.
Very heartfelt and extremely candid.
I'm so proud of our young music hopefulls stepping up and reinvinting the norms...
Making it OK to show the world who you are.

This is a talented black man, that is openly bisexual in the music industry...and has yet to drop his first album (Channel Orange), which releases July 17.
Do you think this type of honestly will positively or negatively effect his sales?

I say fuck it, this is your life. Be you.
That's the only way you can guarantee happiness.

Read the letter below:
Whoever you are, wherever you are, I’m beginning to think we’re a lot alike. Human beings spinning on blackness. All wanting to be seen, touched, heard, paid attention to. My loved ones are everything to me here. In the last year or 3 I’ve screamed at my creator. Screamed at clouds in the sky. For some explanation. Mercy maybe. For peace of mind to rain like manna somehow. 4 summers ago, I met somebody. I was 19 years old. He was too.We spent that summer, and the summer after, together. Everyday almost. And on the days we were together, time would glide. Most of the day I’d see him, and his smile. I’d hear his conversation and his silence … until it was time to sleep. Sleep I would often share with him. By the time I realized I was in love, it was malignant. It was hopeless. There was no escaping, no negotiation with the feeling. No choice. It was my first love, it changed my life. Back then, my mind would wander to the women I had been with, the ones I cared for and thought I was in love with. I reminisced about the sentimental songs I enjoyed when I was a teenager … the ones I played when I experienced a girlfriend for the first time. I realized they were written in a language I did not yet speak. I realized too much, too quickly. Imagine being thrown from a plane. I wasn’t in a plane though. I was in a Nissan Maxima, the same car I packed up with bags and drove to Los Angeles in. I sat there and told my friend how I felt. I wept as the words left my mouth. I grieved for them, knowing I could never take them back for myself. He patted my back. He said kind things. He did his best. But he wouldn’t admit the same.He had to go back inside soon. It was late and his girlfriend was waiting for him upstairs. He wouldn’t tell me the truth about his feelings for me for another 3 years. I felt like I’d only imagined reciprocity for years. Now imagine being thrown from a cliff. No, I wasn’t on a cliff. I was still in my car telling myself it was gonna be fine and to take deep breaths. I took the breaths and carried on. I kept up a peculiar friendship with him because I couldn’t imagine keeping up my life without him. I struggled to master myself and my emotions. I wasn’t always successful. The dance went on … I kept the rhythm for several summers after. It’s winter now. I’m typing this on a plane back to Los Angeles from New Orleans. I flew home for another marred Christmas. I have a windowseat. It’s December 27, 2011. By now I’ve written two albums, this being the second. I wrote to keep myself busy and sane. I wanted to create worlds that were rosier than mine. I tried to channel overwhelming emotions. I’m surprised at how far all of it has taken me. Before writing this I’d told some people my story. I’m sure these people kept me alive; kept me sane … sincerely, these are the folks I wanna thank from the floor of my heart. Everyone of you knows who you are … great humans, probably angels. I don’t know what happens now, and that’s alrite. I don’t have any secrets I need kept anymore. There’s probably some small shit still, but you know what I mean. I was never alone, as much as I felt like it … as much as I still do sometimes. I never was. I don’t think I ever could be. Thanks. To my first love. I’m grateful for you. Grateful that even though it wasn’t what I hoped for and even though it was never enough, it was. Some things never are … and we were. I won’t forget you. I won’t forget the summer. I’ll remember who I was when I met you. I’ll remember who you were and how we’ve both changed and stayed the same. I’ve never had more respect for life and living than I have right now. Maybe it takes a near death experience to feel alive. Thanks. To my mother, you raised me strong. I know I’m only brave because you were first … so thank you. All of you. For everything good. I feel like a free man. If I listen closely … I can hear the sky falling too

Kids Taunt a Grandmother to Tears.

I watched this and wanted to travel back in time and f*ck some shit up rescue that poor woman.
This is what the world is coming to.
This is who we as a people raising?

Children will be children, yes BUT children would have never pulled something like this back in the day. These children are growing up fueled by the thought of getting famous on the internet.

Well look boys, now you're famous for being totally cruel for no reason.
Good job.

Mugs are out here heckling old women about their weight...like this can't be real.
Out of all of this though,  I do love the fact that people have raised thousands of dollars for this woman.

We support you sweetie...and we wanna give those kids a serious whooping.
With a switch...
OH, maybe one of those thick leather paddles they used to whoop us with in grade school.

Do yal remember those?
That was child abuse, man.
Oh well.
Talk to yal later, ha.

P.S. I'm crazy.

2 Chainz ft Drake: No Lie (VIDEO)

Real cool video.

Hollywood Exes.

Get More: Hollywood Exes

This can. not. be real.
Why VH1?
Why the do you believe that the only way black (women) people will be popular on television, is if they are sucking the teet of a celebrity?

Wasn't Basketball Wives and Love & Hip Hop good enough? Damn.
And these women will now become D-list celebrities, and really think that they are doing something... when all they are really doing is looking strugg-lish.
I mean get your money honey, but damn.

There is no way that I would strive for fame by associating my name with someone elses.
I mean, especially not an ex. Must be cray.

Why aren't there any decent things to watch about black people starting businesses or furthering their education? Lord knows they'd have plenty of material, and I would be interested in watching that.

Help us lord.. just send us help to the executives at VH1.

Dear White People....

Justin Simien, an aspiring filmmaker may soon find success in Hollywood by capturing his experiences as a young black person trying to make it in the film business.

These are things we probably all either deal with or think about as black people.
Real things that we would probably appreciate in a feature film.
Check out their tumblr page  here.
The goal is to find an investor that will allow him to make this movie the way he wants to make it, and the way he's going to do this is with out help and support:
"Remember when Black movies didn’t neccesarily star a dude in a fat suit and a wig? Or have major plot twists timed to Gospel numbers for no apparent reason? No? Damn…
Well believe it or not there was a time when “Black Art-House” was a thing. When movies like Do The Right Thing, Hollywood Shuffle, and Boyz In Da Hood were breaking box office records as well as making us laugh, cry, and think in ways movies hadn’t before.
The humble producers of DEAR WHITE PEOPLE, a satire about being a black face in a white place, long to bring those days back. But we can’t do it without you!
We pieced together what resources we had to make this trailer in order to entice investors for our planned million dollar feature. Armed with this trailer and your support we plan to make this film a reality. Click here to help bring this film to theaters."
I think it's a great idea and a the money would go to a great cause (if you were feeling generous today.)
Looks like a cool group of kiddos too.

Runway Model Fall Compilation

This is the funniest thing I've seen in a while.
Just sitting behind my desk at work bugging up.
I don't care who sees...gully like that.

SweetLife Food & Music Festival 2012.

Sweet Life Music and Food Festival took place on April 28 this year.
Amanze, his sister Chi Chi, and I set out for our adventure in the sun...
except there was barely any sun, and plenty of clouds.

But we had a GREAT time.
All of the artists were effing fantastic.

Fun.: Me and my silly boy were out in the parking lot "preparing" for the show while they were on. We heard them from a distance, but I'm still pretty salty we missed them in person.

Haim: Their lead guitarist was so hilarious to watch. She made the most ridiculous faces while she performed, and I loved it to pieces.

A$AP Rocky and the A$AP Mobb: This was a decent preview for the show we went to see the next day.

Yuna: Who we unfortunately had to miss bc A$AP was running late on the main stage. BUT I saw her live just last week with Graffiti 6. She was great.

Fitz and the Tantrums: This came out of left field to me. Now I surely have heard of them, but never sought out their music. They were awesome. Soo much energy.

The Shins: Love them. I was so excited to see them live.

Cudderrr: This boy can perform..and white people LOVE him. The crowd went absolutely bonkers during this show. And I can't lie, it was good.

AVICII: We went back in the stands for this show, since it was dark and the stage was large. Bright neon lights..huge graphics on stage. It was dope and loads of electronica DJ fun.

A$AP Rocky (who I saw twice this weekend)

Please take note of the white guy in the jersey at around 1:00.
I nearly punched him in the face, until he passed me some grass.
I was satisfied with his enthusiasm after that.

Painting at the festival
Our view from the line for The Shins.
Free compliments!!

They had all types of cute little areas to hang out.
And most of the food was organic or locally grown.

It was packed everywhere...
And this is still early in the day.

Amanze and Chi Chi.

Thighs.

The Shins

Cudderr
He was really great on stage.
Great show.
Me and my boy

Visual dopeness. Peep the glowlights.
I was so mad that I left from down there when they
started handing those out.
